AZ-801 Course Overview
This instructor-led course prepares IT professionals to configure advanced Windows Server services using on-premises, hybrid, and cloud technologies.
Participants will learn to:
- Secure Windows Server and Active Directory infrastructures.
- Configure and manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Migrate workloads to newer Windows Server versions or Azure.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Windows Server workloads.
The course highlights administrative tools and technologies such as Windows Admin Center, PowerShell, Azure Arc, Azure Automation Update Management, Microsoft Defender for Identity, Azure Security Center, Azure Migrate, and Azure Monitor.
AZ-801 Prerequisites
To succeed in this course, participants are recommended to have the following:
- Experience managing Windows Server operating systems, including Active Directory (AD DS), DNS, DFS, Hyper-V, and File and Storage Services.
- Familiarity with Windows Server management tools, such as Windows Admin Center and PowerShell.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft compute, storage, networking, and virtualization technologies.
- Knowledge of networking technologies like IP addressing, DNS, and DHCP.
- Basic knowledge of security principles, including firewalls, encryption, multi-factor authentication, SIEM/SOAR, and best practices.
- Experience with Azure Active Directory and implementing/managing IaaS services in Microsoft Azure.
- Hands-on experience with Windows client operating systems, such as Windows 10 or 11.
