    SC-300 Course Overview

    This instructor-led course prepares you for the Microsoft Exam SC-300 by focusing on the knowledge and skills needed to design, implement, and operate an organization’s identity and access management systems using Entra ID (formerly Azure AD). 

    The course covers: 

    • Configuring and managing Azure AD tenants and identities. 
    • Implementing Azure AD authentication, external identities, and conditional access policies. 
    • Planning and managing identity governance strategies. 
    • Securing enterprise applications using Azure AD and Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps. 
    • Monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving the security posture of Azure AD environments.

    Participants will benefit from lessons, video learning, hands-on labs, self-assessment questions, and a MeasureUp practice exam to simulate the test day experience. 

    SC-300 Prerequisites

    Before attending this course, students are recommended to have: 

    • Security best practices and industry requirements, including defense in depth, least privilege access, shared responsibility, and the zero trust model. 
    • Identity concepts such as authentication, authorization, and Active Directory. 
    • Experience deploying Azure workloads (note: this course does not cover Azure administration basics). 
    • Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems and scripting languages (PowerShell and CLI experience is helpful but not required). 

    Students are recommended to achieve the following certifications before taking this course:

    Lesson 2: Implement Authentication and Access Management Solutions (5 hours and 12 minutes)
    • Plan, implement, and manage Azure Multifactor Authentication (MFA) and self-service password reset. 
    • Plan and manage Azure AD conditional access. 
    • Manage Azure AD Identity Protection. 
    • Implement access management for Azure resources. 
    Lesson 3: Implement Access Management for Apps (3 hours and 24 minutes)
    • Plan, implement, and monitor enterprise app integration for SSO. 
    • Implement app registrations. 
    • Manage and monitor application access using Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps. 
    Lesson 4: Plan and Implement an Identity Governance Strategy (6 hours)
    • Plan and implement entitlement management. 
    • Plan and manage access reviews. 
    • Plan and implement privileged access management. 
    • Monitor and analyze Azure AD logs and security posture.
